Krasonis: “We prepared hard and we are ready”
The first race weekends of this year’s Championship ended in an excellent way for Thomas Krasonis, who climbed onto the winners’ podium in Spain, Italy, and Great Britain in the categories in which he competes.
Despite the long break of more than two months, the 23-year-old driver prepared intensively for the fourth race of the year under the guidance of Paul Timbas and is ready for the big challenge ahead.
“It is true that the long break due to the cancellation of the race in the Netherlands kept us away from the action for too long. Of course, this year we have made some very important decisions together with the team and my sponsors, the results of which we are seeing on the tracks. In this context, we decided to make two short trips to Germany and Belgium, where we had the opportunity to train, always under the guidance of Alon Day, on the tracks where the season’s playoffs will take place,” emphasizes the Greek driver.
He adds: “The truth is that we wanted to do a day of training in Most, but unfortunately the track was not available. So we chose to travel to Oschersleben and Zolder, where this year’s titles will essentially be decided thanks to the double points that will be awarded in each of the four races of each three-day event.”
Looking ahead to Most, Thomas Krasonis emphasized that “we have worked for many hours in the gym and we are ready. Realistically, however, the goal for the weekend in the Czech Republic is to score high in all races so that we can enter the playoffs from a strong position, since we have the opportunity to remove our worst result so far from the final regular season standings. So, first, a good ranking, and if the podium or victory comes, so much the better!”
He concluded: “I have said before that everything that is happening this year would not be possible without the support of the people who are by our side. I would like to thank my sponsors, Costamare Shipping Company and Dodoni Dairy, who contribute greatly to the success of this journey and enable us to do something extra, such as additional days of training on Championship tracks. I would also like to thank the Athens Medical Group for their continuous medical support before and after each race, the Antenna Group, which brings the action from all NASCAR Euro Series races into every home, and of course everyone who supports our efforts”.
