Krasonis: “We fought for the podium…”

Thomas Krasonis was exhausted from the tremendous effort he put in during Sunday’s race in Valencia. “It was a very demanding process, but we need to make it clear that the fact I had tires in very good condition—due to what happened on Saturday—played a key role,” the 2025 OPEN Champion emphasized at the outset.
“The team did an excellent job working late into Saturday night to ensure the car was fully ready for Sunday’s race. And I’d like to thank them especially for that. I had no doubt about how good a team PK Carsport is, but under these difficult circumstances, it was important that we were able to have such a good car after Saturday’s violent crash. “It was impossible to avoid that particular incident on Saturday,” he added.
Regarding Sunday’s race, Thomas Krasonis said: “We got off to a good start, made four passes in the first one and a half laps, and thanks to the good tires, we were able to maintain a very strong pace. At the end of the race, we had an excellent lap time. I moved up to fourth place, but it was impossible to catch Nelson Piquet Jr. He’s a very experienced driver, and drivers like that rarely make mistakes. Lowe also had an excellent race, while there’s not much to say about Ghirelli. When you have two titles in the top category, you don’t make mistakes. And Vittorio didn’t make a single mistake either. The important thing is that we earned enough points on Sunday. I hope I don’t have another bad race until the playoffs, so that the result of Saturday’s race in Valencia is the one that won’t count toward my regular-season standings.”
And he concluded: “I would especially like to thank my sponsor, Costamare Shipping Company, which for yet another year stands by my side supporting our efforts, as well as my family.”
